Kiddix was a family-friendly Linux-based operating system and software stack for children. The goal of the OS was to provide children with a safe, friendly, and fun computing environment.
I developed the initial concept for what became Kiddix in 2002 (then it was called Linux Kids), as a way to provide children with a computing environment that was designed for their unique needs. By 2005 this idea had progressed into what Kiddix became. In 2006 I founded the company Kiddix Computing as a way to commercialize the technology.
Read more...FVWM is a lightweight window manager for Linux and many of other UNIX-link environments. After many years as a dedicated KDE user, in 2005 I made the switch to FVWM.
The biggest reason for my switch was configurability. Essentially in FVWM you have the power to create your own desktop environment from scratch.
Read more...Split Splat is an iPhone game I developed in 2009, where you take on the role of a pigeon and try to poop on people's heads. The pigeon is controlled by the iPhone accelerometer, and you can fire away at the innocent bystanders by tapping on the screen. The whole game took about four weeks of spare time at night to create, but was never released.
Read more...This isn't really a project, but I wanted to link to a variety of screenshots I have in my collection that shows how my Linux desktop has evolved through the years. Unfortunately, I don't have any screenshots prior to 2001, when I was using Gnome.
Although I have tried out many window managers over the years, I only have screenshots of what my main desktop environment looked like at various points in time, which has been running KDE or FVWM.
